2024 Wager to Win XXIX
NTRA National Horseplayers Championship Qualifier
SATURDAY & SUNDAY, April 20th & 21st, 2024

  • All participants who are currently licensed by a racing commission or other Governmental Agencies with regulatory oversight of the horse racing industry (including state, federal and National Racing Compact) shall identify themselves to Tournament Officials prior to the first day of the contest. Licensees include, but are not limited to, owners, trainers, track officials, jockey agents and all licensed track employees. Participants must also identify themselves to Tournament Officials if the participant is an immediate family member (i.e. spouse, child, blood relation and all who live in the same household) of above licensees.
  • A participant who has a financial or ownership interest in a horse entered in any of the races designated as part of the tournament will be ineligible to wager on such races. All participants with a financial or ownership interest in an entry shall identify themselves to TI Tournament Officials who will determine if the participant’s interest(s) precludes them from wagering. Failure to abide by this rule will result in disqualification from the tournament.

  • Participants must be TI Players Club members and at least 21 years of age.
    • Participants must be 2024 NHC Tour Members to compete for a qualifying seat into the NHC 2025. Non-members may participate for the cash prizes but are ineligible to win qualifying seats.
  • A $500 entry fee must be paid in full prior to participating in the tournament. Prepayment via credit card may be made through TI Casino Marketing (800.944.3777) by 11 AM (PST) on Wednesday, April 17th, 2024. Cash or TI gaming chip payments will also be accepted at the TI Race & Sports Book up to the deadline time on tournament day. Entry fee deadline is 8:00 AM of tournament date. Limited to the first 60 paid contestants; six entries max per person. No refunds.
  • TI reserves all rights, including the right to refuse entry to any individual or to modify or cancel this promotion at any time without prior notification. In the event of any technical difficulties, TI reserves the right to change or cancel the tournament without any further liability or claim of damages of any kind. In the event of a cancellation, all entry fees will be refunded.
  • Any vendor or immediate family of a vendor who provides promotional items for tournaments, promotions or drawings shall be prohibited from participating in that activity.
  • TI employees or employees of any subsidiary of TI, the National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA) and their immediate families are not permitted to participate in this tournament.

  • Participants will place mythical contest wagers for races at Aqueduct, Gulfstream, Oaklawn, and Santa Anita. A total of fifteen (15) event tournament WIN/PLACE mythical wagers will be placed each day. The two-day contest will consist of a combined total of thirty (30) mythical tournament wagers. Tournament wagers are NOT for cash. Winning wagers will be awarded points.
  • All of the 30 races are players’ choice in the tournament format.
  • If a race is cancelled for any reason, the contestant must void the contest ticket at a live tellers’ station and make a selection in another race. If this occurs in the last race on any day, the contestant will only have fourteen (14) selections or fewer for that tournament day. It is the participant’s responsibility to be aware of any changes.
    • Participants wagering on more than fifteen (15) races on either tournament day will be automatically disqualified from the tournament.
  • All WIN/PLACE mythical wagers must be made on a single horse in a given race (WIN/PLACE wagers may not be designated for different horses within one race). Participants may only wager on one horse in each race.

  • Participants will make event tournament wagers with a TI teller or self-serve KIOSK.
  • Participants must present their TI Players Club card when making all tournament selections.
  • Each participant is responsible for all tournament selections including correct track, correct race, correct horse program number, and correct TI Player’s Card number on ticket of receipt.

  • There will be NO specifying of alternates. If a participants’ selected entry is scratched prior to post time, the participant is permitted to go back to the manned teller window, cancel the original wager and either select another horse in the same race or select another race and another entry, time permitting. Should a scratch occur in the last race of a daily format and NO wager is placed on ANY horse in this race, the participant will receive zero points for that race.

  • All prize money from the tournament will be distributed pursuant to the Prize Money Structure Sheet, which will be provided once the final number of entry fees has been determined. 80% of the tournament entry fees will be awarded as prizes (maximum total prize structure: $180,000 for the tournament).
  • Prize Structure:
    • 1st Place – 50% of all entry fees
    • 2nd Place – 20% of all entry fees
    • 3rd Place – 10% of all entry fees
  • The top two places on Sunday, April 14th at the conclusion of the 2-day competition will receive:
    • A qualifying spot to the 2025 National Horseplayers Championship to be held March 15-17, 2025, provided they are a current 2024 NHC Tour member. In the event a winner of a qualifying spot is not an NHC member, the spot will be awarded to the next highest placing NHC Tour member.
    • Round-trip airfare and complimentary accommodation in a deluxe room at the TI, for up to four nights, during the 2025 National Horseplayers Championship to be held March 14-16, 2025. The NTRA maximum airfare reimbursement is $500 per qualifier, on any non-first-class flight. Airfare reimbursement is not applicable to residents of the Las Vegas area.
  • Prizes will be awarded in the form of a voucher redeemable for cash.
  • All taxes on cash prizes are the sole responsibility of the winners. Winners that receive winnings of $1,200 or more in cash will receive a W-2G tax form or Form 1042-S from TI. All winners must produce valid photo ID per IRS regulations.

  • There is a cap placed on ALL PAYOUTS. The WIN cap is 20/1 ($42). The PLACE cap is 10/1 ($22).

  • Participants will accrue tournament point earnings based on mythical $2 WIN/PLACE wagers. All tournament points earned will be used for scoring purposes only and have no cash value.
  • Earnings will be accrued in gross based on official track payouts.
  • The individual winner will be determined by the highest bankroll from all mythical $2 WIN and $2 PLACE bets at the end of tournament play (30 total races).

  • The individual standings will be posted on the KIOSKS in the contest area. At the conclusion of the tournament, names and total bankrolls will be posted.
  • At the conclusion of the tournament, all play will be audited to verify that the rules and regulations were followed by all prize winners. Unofficial results will be posted within 1½ hours after the last contest race. Official winners will be announced at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 21st, 2024.

  • In the event of a tie involving the qualifying spots, the tiebreakers will proceed on the following basis:
  1. The higher placing will be awarded to the participant with the greater number of winners (WIN bets) over 30 tournament races.
  2. In the further event of a tie, the contestant with the highest single mutuel payout over 30 tournament races (WIN or PLACE) will be awarded the placing.

  • Ties involving prize money will be split equally between the tied positions.

  • TI Management shall resolve any dispute or situation not covered by these rules and that decision shall be final and binding to all participants. Participants may also contact the Nevada Gaming Control Board to register any disputes.
  • Participation in this event authorizes TI to use photographs of the event in future marketing medias.
